No Vacancy brings together visual and performing artists from around the Charlotte area in an interactive installation and performance experience. No Vacancy combines a large-scale interactive art installation with performances and visual art elements from a diverse group of artists. The project creates a dialogue between the visual and performing arts and aims to bring the two mediums together in a way that shows the true connection and influence they can have on one another.
No Vacancy is the brain child of Brianna Susan Smith (Taproot) and Jeffrey Barninger (Union Shop Studio). The duo has created a space for visual artists to build an immersive environment that gives performers an opportunity to manipulate and interpret that space. No Vacancy is a unique and innovative experience for both the artists and the audience.
Next up in the series of performances is August 11th from 7:30 to 10:30pm in the makerspace at C3Lab. Queenie and her neighbors at the South End Motel are getting together one last time for drinks, popsicles and games before Zenith Properties develops the block and the South End Motel is gone forever. Come explore with your neighborhood guides. August 11th is PAY WHAT YOU CAN NIGHT.
Queenie's Farewell Block Party @NoVacancy performance also August 12th & 13th
