Art Exhibit

Portraits of Uganda

Portraits of Uganda is an educational exhibit of photographs, mixed media encaustics, documentary video, and Ugandan artifacts. This 50-piece exhibit includes photographs from Carrie Wagner’s book, Village Wisdom, and newly created encaustic photographs that represent 25 years of involvement with communities in Western Uganda.

The purposes of the exhibit are to:

  1. Connect individuals and organizations for shared learning about the richness of culture and the challenges of poverty.
  2. Share stories from the heart about cross-cultural friendship, poverty alleviation, and social justice.
  3. Inspire global engagement, service learning, and financial support for women’s empowerment and entrepreneurial development in Uganda.

The exhibit intersects art, photography, culture, education, global connection, and community development.  Opening reception is Friday, September 1st from 7 to 10pm and will be on display till September 23rd.
