It’s finally back… and in person!! Join other young professionals in the local Charlotte community to mix and mingle for the annual #YPMixerCLT2022 presented presented by U.S. Bank!
#YPMixerCLT has provided an annual opportunity for hundreds of Young Professionals to network and connect - bringing together Charlotte’s most influential YP boards, individual members and nonprofits for a fun night of socializing and engagement. This event provides a unique opportunity for YPs to feel more connected to Charlotte, while also providing an opportunity for 40 nonprofits to interact with this next generation of local philanthropists.
The evening’s emcee will be the one and only Ohavia (Oh) Phillips, media personality, community activist, talk show host and podcaster of all things positive. ABOUT THE EXHIBIT:
Consumerism has taught us to crave everything all at once, and in that insatiable hunger, we are never fully satisfied by what we consume.
GARBAGE PERSON, the latest exhibition at Alchemy's Gallery C3, embraces "trash" as both subject and material, dumpster diving into staples of Americana that are both rejected and revered. Sacred and profane comforts such as reality tv, tabloids, and fast food are a spectacular addiction. Pulling ourselves away from them would be like amputating a limb—even if it saved our lives, we would be forever haunted by the phantom pain.
This show is curated by Taylor Lee Nicholson, who self-identifies as a “garbage person” because of her steady lifelong diet of hot dogs, true crime documentaries, and pulp fiction. The artists in this show share a taste in both kitsch and the absurd, bringing whimsy to a somewhat bleak premise.
Exhibit runs May 6th - July 31st

ABOUT THE EXHIBIT:

Join ALCHEMY for a Magnificent Mushroom Dinner featuring four courses of fantastic fungi with wonderful wine pairings.
