PROFESSIONAL STUDIO WORKSPACE

The large shared open studio space is approximately 20’ x 30’ with an 8’ x 20’ loft overlooking the area that has computer desks with shelving for a cleaner workspace area. There are several large working tables to spread out art materials and works in progress. Fellows also have access to the surrounding lounge, kitchen, utility sinks and other open areas for personal use. Any furniture items in the space can be moved around to both artists’ preference and the studio mates can decide how they will divide and share the creative space.

FABRICATION WORKSHOP

Because of the complexities of the machinery and for insurance safety reasons, fellows will only be allowed supervised access to the design + build firm’s workshop space with a professional associate and any needed skills training

SECURITY

For the safety and well-being of everyone that shares the entire facility, there are security cameras located throughout various interior/exterior spaces. The building is always locked 24/7 with only key fob access by tenants or employees. Fellows will receive access fobs upon their first day arrival and must be returned when the program is finished.

COMMUNITY CULTURE

The fellows studio is located within ACSM’s facility, along with other local Charlotte creatives’ spaces. These artists manage quarterly Open Studios and the fellows are expected to participate in these community events. These are the only times that the doors are open to the general public and whole community pitches in to ensure a successful fun evening.
